Eugene Udenberg

Eugene “Sonny” Udenberg, 82, Two Harbors, died Saturday, December 14, 2019 in the Barross Manor.

Sonny was born July 22, 1937 to Clifford and Hazel (Thorson) Udenberg in Two Harbors, where he was a life-long resident. As a young man, he was employed by the DM&IR Railway as a section laborer. After the death of his father-in-law, he went to work for the family business-LaBonne Hauling, eventually buying the business and operating it until his retirement in 1997. He also worked for his brother at H & G Texaco service station.

Sonny was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed woodworking, his dogs and time at the hunting cabin.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Earl and Harold, son, Thomas, and grandchildren, Sarah and Zachary.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Timothy (Kathy) Todd (Nancy), Greg, Judy, Michael (Laurie) and Barbara; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Carole) and Floyd (Shirley); sister-in-law, Ruth Ann; cousin Giles (Darlene) Dalbec; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Private family service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Cavallin Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will follow from 1-4 PM at the Moose Lodge in Two Harbors.
