Two Harbors

Eugene A. Sikkink, 82, Two Harbors, died Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital, after a brief illness.

Gene was born August 20, 1938 to Ralph Sr. and Marian Sikkink on the family farm in Berry Township near Hinckley.  In 1948 the family moved to South Dakota and Gene graduated from Waubay High School in 1956.  At age 18, he moved to Two Harbors and was employed at Reserve Mining Company and served with the Coast Guard Reserves.  He later earned an Associate Degree in accounting and began Sikkink’s Diversified Services.  Gene also served as the Administrator for the Two Harbors Moose Lodge for many years.

Gene was a member of The United Church, American Legion, and the Loyal Order of the Moose where he attained the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.

Gene loved being with people.  He enjoyed woodworking, reading, strategy games and was a loyal Vikings fan.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd; and sisters-in-law Janice and Cynthia Sikkink.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Liana; children, Gina Sikkink, William Sikkink (Laura Gastaliturri), and Karen (Kerry) Bolduan; grandchildren, Samantha, Brittni, Melanie, Bradly, Sydney, Casey, and James; siblings, Ralph Sikkink Jr., Donna Thomas and Dean Sikkink; and sister-in-law, Judy Sikkink; and many nieces, nephews and double cousins.

Services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.
