Obituary

Everett Coolidge, 75, Two Harbors, died Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his home, surrounded by family after a long illness.

Everett was born to Lloyd and Esther (Hagberg) Coolidge on September 19, 1944 in Duluth.  He grew up in Knife River and attended schools there and in Two Harbors.  As a young man, Everett was employed as a heavy equipment opreator with the 49-ers, then worked as a machinist and supervisor at Barko Hydraulics.  In the 1980’s he and a partner opened Ken-Cool Machine Shop.  Later he took over the family business, Coolidge Brothers Machine Shop in Knife River.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Everett enjoyed tinkering with anything old and rusty, riding ATV and side-by-side, helping others and supervising others in safe operation.                                  

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John and Richard.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; a daughter, Stephanie (William) Lewis of Thunder Bay; sons, Tim (Anita) and Brian of Knife River; a sister, Brenda (Rick) Clark of Two Harbors; step-daughters, Michele (Greg) Beal of Princeton, IN and Sherri Griffith of Gainesville, GA; nephews and nieces, Jesse Clark, Shawn (Dawn) Clark, Faith Clark, and Hailey (Nathan) Kashak; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many, many friends.

A Celebration of Everett’s Life will be held from 1 PM until 4 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Rec Center in Knife River.
