Obituary

Gerald “Jerry” Hatch, 84, of Two Harbors, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Waterview Shores.

Jerry was born February 6, 1939 to Chester and Frances Hatch in Storm Lake, Iowa and grew up on a farm in Olivia, MN. As a young man he moved to the North Shore and was employed at Reserve Mining Company for many years, and later for the City of Two Harbors at Helgeson Airport.

He enjoyed gardening, tinkering in the garage, watching the birds and animals outside, and spending time with his family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert; a son, Kelley Overby; and a great-granddaughter, Rylee.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary; children, Randy (Sandy) Hatch, Brenda (Mike) Maas, Kim (Steve) Moen, Janett Helgeson, and Scott (Gail) Overby; daughter-in-law, Shelly (Bill) Peterson; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and four siblings.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors.
