Gilbert O. Pierce, 89, of Two Harbors, died on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at home.

Gilbert was born to Henry and Maude (Taylor) Pierce in Pierson, Iowa on May 10, 1931.  He grew up in central Minnesota and worked on the family farm before serving in the Army during the Korean War.  He married Joan Harstad in Verndale, MN on April 16, 1955, and they moved to the North Shore.  Gilbert was employed by Reserve Mining for 31 ½ years until his retirement.
