Malvin Robinson

September 19, 1929 — January 19, 2022

Malvin M. Robinson, 92, of Silver Bay, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Lake View Memorial Hospital in Two Harbors, with his wife, Helen, and their six children by his side.

Malvin was born September 19, 1929 to Elmer and Annie (Leverson) Robinson in Chetek Township, Wisconsin, where he grew up on family farms with his 11 siblings, including a twin brother, Marvin. He attended country schools, and as a young man moved to Montana in 1948 and worked in a sawmill cutting lumber for railroad ties. Returning to Wisconsin, he married Helen Hill on her birthday in 1952 at the Presbyterian church in Chetek. Farming in his hometown kept him busy until moving to Silver Bay with his young family in 1956. He was employed in maintenance at Reserve Mining Company from 1956 until his retirement in 1986.

Malvin was a member of Palisade Baptist Church, where he served on various boards. He also spent 25 winters in mission work at Bibleville Conference Center in Texas.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing softball-pitching on the church Petro team until age 62, family camping and traveling all over the U.S. and Canada, and singing as a family and in church choirs and men’s groups in Silver Bay and Texas.

Malvin was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ethel, Dorothy, and Violet; brother, Stewart and twin brother, Marvin; and a son in-law, Paul Pearson.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen; children, Barbara (Gary) Hamilton, Duane (Julie) Robinson, Carol Pearson, Judy (Dean) Carter, Jean (John) Banks, and Rebecca (Kody) Kofstad; grandchildren, Krista, Dillon, Jason, Guy, Chad, Bryson, Annie, Jill, Jenny, Lyndsay, Kari, Larry, Mckenzie, Lacey, Angie, Spencer, and Taylor; 36 great-grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve, Marlyce, Donna, Margaret and Charlotte; and his brother, Buddy; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Palisade Baptist Church in Silver Bay. Burial will be in Sawtooth Mountain Cemetery.
