Obituary

Marvin C. Knaffla, 95, of Two Harbors, died Monday, February 27, 2023 at Lake View Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Fisher, Minnesota to Emil and Olga (Smith) Knaffla on January 16, 1928. Growing up in Crookston and Alvwood, he married in 1951 and moved to International Falls. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army for two years. He moved to the Silver Bay area in 1956 and was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Reserve Mining until retiring in 1987. He has made his home in Two Harbors since 1976.  He was a member of the American Legion,and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Marvin was preceded in death by a son, Michael; a daughter, Colleen Vaughn; brothers, Leslie and Paul; and sisters, June Van Hale, Grace Torkelson, and Shirley Bowes.

He is survived by his wife Faye; a son, Howard Knaffla; a brother, Orville Knaffla; sisters, Ruby Friend, Carol Morin, and Marie Zaren; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
