Two Harbors

Michael J.P. Harrison, 65, Two Harbors, died Sunday January 2, 2022 at Lake View Hospital.

Mike was born July 20, 1956 to Patrick and Patricia (Tarry) Harrison in Elyria, Ohio and had lived in Two Harbors since 1959. He served in the Army between 1975-1979. He was first stationed at the Army Post in Hohenfels, Germay and lived in Schmidmuhlen, Germany; after that he was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. Mike was employed in various positions on the ore boats for Great Lakes Fleet/Key Lakes Inc. and retired as the Chief Engineer on the Great Republic.

Mike enjoyed spending time at the shack with Bill Fox sharing stories of great men that have long passed and loved being outdoors whether it was mowing with Roy Hanson or spending time around a fire. He was always one to help out anyone who needed it whenever and wherever. In his retirement he spent many hours volunteering for the American Legion and making kroppkakor for Judy’s Café. He loved going to the Minnesota Twins baseball games at Target Field, spending time with his family, friends, and especially being with his four grandchildren is what he liked to do most.

Most of all Mike was a devoted husband, and a loving father and grandfather.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Pat; a sister, Patty Isackson, and a son, Erick Harrison.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie; sons, Zachary (Emmy) and Jacob (Heather); grandchildren, Adalind, Judson, Piper and Simon; his father, Pat; a brother, Sean (Barb) Harrison; sisters, Kelly (Kent) Hanson, and Treasaigh (Mike) Anderson; and nieces, nephews, and friends.
