Yvonne Stark

Yvonne S. Stark, 85, of Two Harbors, died January 31, 2021 at Lake View Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 21, 1936 to Gerald and Sally (Moe) Thiele in Superior, Wisconsin.  Yvonne grew up in Superior and graduated from Superior East High School in 1954.  She married James Stark on May 25, 1956 and they moved to Two Harbors in 1958.

Yvonne was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles, feeding birds, squirrels, and chipmunks, photography, jigsaw puzzles, creating cards, playing games on her iPad, but most of all, spending time at her cabin on Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin.  She was lovingly known by her family as “The Great One.”

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Sr.; sister, Romelle Shepard; brother, Raymond Thiele; and great-grandson, Louie Edlund.

Yvonne is survived by her daughters, Lynne (Eric) Edlund of Two Harbors, Leslie McFadden of Knife River, and Sharon (Donovan) Anderson of Scottsville, Virginia; sons, James Jr. (Gloria) of Austin, Texas, John (Amy) of Two Harbors, and David (Rashelle) of Elk Grove, California; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Catholic Mass will be said in her honor.  Private graveside service will be held.
